[Competitive] Tournament Weekend...

No less than three competitions going on this weekend - The Gosu cup, Fnatic Cup, and Dota-league pick league season XII. Some spoilers to follow, so don't read on if you don't want to know anything about who progressed through the tournament rounds yet xD

PLAY.FNATIC.COM Dota Cup

This sunday, the first rounds of the fnatic dota cup were played, the four finalists who made it through were:
- KS.Int
- Slavik PRO
- Xeo Divine
- The Last Try
KS.Int and The Last Try are of course well known and full of top players, and so were probably expected to make it through to the finals. Xeo Divine are also a well known team, though havent had an real success in big dota tournaments recently to my knowledge, but perhaps theres a chance for them here. Not really sure about the Slavik.PRO team, has dignitas.astra playing... just a mix team put together for this tournament perhaps? Either way, slavak.pro did well to beat the serbian team srs on their way through to the finals.

The semifinals/finals will apparently be being played next sunday (the 19th), hopefully there will be some good games going there. TLT against KS.Int would be sure to be an interesting match. I'd hench my bets on KS.Int coming through and taking the title of this cup, looking very strong, and loving their clockwork strats :D

TlT vs RoX.KIS: - Haven't actually watched this yet, but apparently a very interesting game
KS.Int vs Apteka: - Short game, Apteka draft something interesting that looks like a pushing lineup, ks.int use a tri-lane strat, which they infact used twice in the tournament today.

Gosu Cup Tournament

This tournament actually began last weekend, but continued this weekend with some interesting matches. The tournament grid can be found here: GRID and its getting towards the quater-final stage.
Given the teams left in the grid, I wouldnt be suprised is the last four in this competition were made up of teams that also made it through to the F4F finals and/or Dreamhack summer 09 finals - KS.Int, TLT, TeG, EG.Dota still all in the running here.

Some Replays:
1tp vs RoX.KIS: a first round match, but includes a solo mid sandking to counter brood, a panda, a clockwork, and a potm+bane lane... altogether fun stuff.
LowHP vs SGC: this game also from the first round, features a golbal-esque strat with spectre + zeus.

To be honest, I havent found many awesome replays from this tournament yet, they tend to be either complete walk-overs with one team quitting after 25mins... or else boring over-extended farm fests. Looking forward to the coming weeks where hopefully the standard will get higher, and the top teams start battling it out against each other :)

Pick League Season XII

This league run over 11 weeks by dota-league started up this sunday as well. There are a vast multitude of teams playing in loads of divisions here, but I'm just looking at div1, the best of the best :P

Only a few of this weeks matches have been played so far, with the ks.int - ravens match up still to come looking to be the highlighted game this week. I'll do a proper round-up of the weeks matches when they've all been played :D
