Gamescom top fails
#4 - Maelk PotM: Not the greatest potm ever seen...
#3 - Hex0r roaming shaker: Really not a good show of how to roaming gank with shaker, almost every early stun leaves the opponents on the wrong side of the fissure xD
#2 - Picking an aoe-lacking set of gankers against a heavy push lineup: Razer.cgc seriosuly failing their picks against MCiTY for 3rd place play-off, could have quite easily picked shaker to fit their lineup and made things a bit different.
#1 - Biggest fail of the tournament was Nerubian Assassin, 3 games, 3 losses. One of the heroes that gets the most hate about being imba and needing nerfs being shown up and showing that picking him definately doesnt go anywhere near guaranteeing a win :o
Most impressive tournament happenings
#3 - Razer.cgc being happy to not ban undying, and allow opponents to first pick him. Worked out well for them with first few games, but backfired against MCiTY, shame... quite a ballsy thing to do I reckon, undying is such a strong hero.
#2 - Fnatic's dazzle + Slardar strategy. Definately worked well for them, slardar normally being thought of as more of a counter-invis pick than a proper carry in his own right, and dazzle quite often being overlooked for warlock as a babysitter. Fnatic made the strategy work well for them :D
#1 - Freezer! Seriously great play by freezer for fnatic, particularly as he was a stand-in, not having played much dota with the team. His zeus got an ultrakill/godlike at minute 12 against xeo.int (link), and his lina made a complete mess of ravens (link), good job freezer :D
Shoutcast commentary
This is really awesome, some shoutcasting of 4 of the gamescom matches, really worth watching particularly if you want to get some extra information about why the competitive players are doing what they're doing. Shoutcasted by Australians, so perhaps slightly biased towards MCiTY, but still great to watch. Their analysis and commentary is really good and makes it even more interesting than simply watching replays. Give these guys some support :p
