Semi-finals
So now we get down to the semi-finals, all the teams who made it this far into the tournament were going to get some of the prize pot, however I'm sure they were all still gunning for that #1 position :D
Semi final #1: MCiTY vs Ravens (Download)
Ravens start out picking a "standard" looking ganky lineup, but finish it off with Obsydian Destroyer after MCiTY pick Bristleback. Interesting lineups from both teams:
Semi final #2: Fnatic vs Razer (Download)
Fnatic going with their trusted morphling pick, along with a rather unconventional Slardar pick. Razer going with something similar to games they've won in the past, with a tinker alongside a very gank oriented team. Interesting side-note, neither team bans nor picks NA or Undying:
The Grand Final
So the final came down to Ravens vs Fnatic. This one was a best of 3 match, so 2 wins required to win the final, after previously beating fnatic in the groupstages Ravens must have been feeling quietly confident about coming away with the win here, but we all know Fnatic are a great side too, so it was set to be a great final.
*Spoilers alert* :P
Game #1 fnatic vs ravens (Download)
Fnatic using an almost identical lineup to that which they beat razer.cgc in the semi's with, only a change of morphling to potm. Adds perhaps slightly more gank potential for a minor late-game power reduction... altogether almost a straight-swap like-for-like, so pretty much sticking to what previously worked. Ravens lineup also looks rather familiar, gankers mixed with carry capacity. We've seen Maelk play viper alot recently, Miggel is well known for his clockwerk, and Angel plays admiral very often too; they pick up the un-banned nerubian for mr. gank himself - Mania.
Game is pretty even all the way through, ravens doing slightly better in ganking, with fnatic making up for it with better teamfighting and pushing power. In the end fnatic come out on top after completely demolishing the ravens lineup in a teamfight and beginning to go for rax.
Game #2 ravens vs fnatic (Download)
Ravens gone for a rather "standard" looking lineup again, primarily gank oriented with some carry potential and decent teamfight power. Fnatic have gone a bit out of the box again with their picks, again oriented towards ganking but with SF to carry and decent looking teamfight synergy. Nerub and undying both ignored again, how things change. You could say that fnatics less mainstream picks may have helped them to the victory, but in fairness they simply outplayed ravens in every way - their ganking was better, they had more farm, they played the teamfights better. Although they weren't really the team I sort of wanted to win the whole competition, they thoroughly deserved it playing like that.
The fact that lina and clock had better farm than potm, and admiral was unable to get a bkb in 40mins of play should pretty much sum up this game. Fnatic were just better all round.
